Reiki Types
In the world of Reiki, there are four main types. These are; Usui Reiki, Jikiden Reiki, Karuna Reiki, and Lightarian Reiki. Each type has a unique history and is used for its own distinct reasons.
One of the most common types of Reiki as Usui Reiki, also known as Western Reiki. More than 100 years ago, a Japanese doctor by the name of Mikao Usui discovered historic evidence of an ancient Japanese healing art. Usui spent many years developing his practice into Reiki we know today. There are nine elements and four aspects at the core of Usui Reiki all working together to create a system which allows for continual growth and mastery in the healing arts.
Another one of the types of Reiki healing is Jikiden Reiki, also known as Eastern Reiki. This type of energy healing is for the purists. Of all the types of Reiki training, this type has changed the least. Followers of Jikiden Reiki are very careful not to change or translate any part of the original teachings by Usui. Mikao Usui had a devoted following who carried on his exact teachings. Those who stood in Japan continued their training as they had learned it, but as Reiki spread across the world the practice was modified to suit new audiences.
Karuna Reiki is one of the most powerful types of energy healing. It is similar in practice to both Usui Reiki and Jikiden Reiki that has a more spiritual focus allowing the practitioner to channel pure Reiki energy which has a more impactful effect.
Following along the spiritual path, many Reiki masters move on to Lightarian Reiki after mastering Karuna Reiki. When it comes to the different types of Reiki treatments, this form of Reiki is one of the most advanced. There are eight bands which make up the practice, with the first two being Usui and Karuna Reiki. The remaining six bands focus on making the practitioner a self-empowered conduit for healing energy.
On your path to wellness, you’ll probably ask yourself ‘how many kinds of Reiki are there?’ After the four mentioned here, there are a few other notable mentions, such as Rainbow Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, and Seichim Reiki, all of which are powerful forms of healing. However, the most readily available form of Reiki is Usui Reiki.
